Fashion is all about clothes, shoes, and accessories, but the style is a different story!
The style is about feeling confident in what you’re having on cause you love it and you love how you’re looking!
As long as it fits well, nothing matters!
If you’re looking to elevate your style, the first step is becoming confident in your clothes and owning your style!
How many times have you looked at pieces hanging in a store and thought those are for me and I’ll be rockin’
but when you tried them on, they just didn’t go as you had imagined? First things first, do you know what body type are you?
It’s so much important to figure out and accept what your body type is. Just because you can afford to buy the latest
styles don’t mean you’re going to look great in everything that is out there.
No matter your size, you can have any of the four body shapes below; it’s more about how your weight (whatever it may be) is distributed.
Here’s how you measure yourself Step by Step:
Grab a measuring tape and a friend to help you, a friend you won’t be shy to stand naked in front of her as it’s important to stand naked in a mirror so you can examine your curves and proportions. Wearing underwear can sometimes give you a slimmer illusion
because it's very difficult to measure some parts of yourself and get it right.
The more accurate you could be, the better you're gonna look later.
Your Shoulders:
“This is the hardest measurement to do by yourself, so you really should ask someone to help.”
Place the measuring tape at the tip of one shoulder and wrap it all the way around you like a shawl until it meets back at the same shoulder.
Your Bust:
Stand up straight and wrap the measuring tape around your back and across the middle part of your breasts, usually it’s the fullest part of them. Pull the measuring tape as taut as you can without changing the shape of your breasts.
If the twins start to squish, you've gone too far.
Your Waist:
Wrap the measuring tape around your torso, at the smallest part of your natural waist.
It should wrap flat around your back without buckling and meet just above your belly button.
Your Hips:
Hold the measuring tape at one hip, below your hip bone, at the fullest part of your hip. Then, keeping the tape flat, wrap it around the largest part of your butt (no cheating!), go around your other hip, and bring it back to the meeting point.
Now after you have every measurement written down, let’s see which category~ies do you fall under, yes you could fall in more than one category and I tell you that this an advantage you should make use of.
Next, Hold the measures and let’s match your shape!
Inverted Triangle (Apple-Shape)
This is a body shape where your shoulders are wider than your waist and the hip line. You have prominent and broad straight shoulders. You might also have a larger chest and fuller back.
You can check with numbers by applying this
(shoulder/bust measure - hip measure) ÷ shoulder/bust measure *100 = 5 (positive value)
And when you gain weight, it will go through the torso and back area.
Triangle (Pear-Shape)
When your hips are wider than your shoulders and waistline then your body figure is Pear. Your buttocks and thighs are full.
(shoulder/bust measure - hip measure) ÷ shoulder/bust measure *100 = -5 (negative value)
And when you gain weight, it will mostly show in the thigh areas. This is the opposite of the Apple body shape.
Rectangular (Straight-Shape)
When you look at your shoulders, waistline, and hips and they are of the same width, then you have the rectangle shape (no defined waist-line).
When you gain weight it will be evenly distributed, or it can be more through the upper back or neck.
Hourglass-Shape
The shoulders and hips are of the same width and your waistline is smaller. Women with an hourglass body have a well-defined waistline.
This body type gains weight through the hips and above the waist.
So, after you have recognized your body type, Here is my tip for you:
You should Learn to love your body, dress your body, and in the style that works for you, these are the keys to having confidence in your clothes! And remember that no matter what, you’re beautiful!
Keep it up for One More Style Tip!
because it's very difficult to measure some parts of yourself and get it right.
If the twins start to squish, you've gone too far.
(shoulder/bust measure - hip measure) ÷ shoulder/bust measure *100 = 5 (positive value)
